Orthopaedic Surgeon

James E. Voos, M.D. is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. He has been appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Dr. Voos completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency and Sports Medicine Fellowship training at the U.S. News and World Report #1 ranked Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. He completed a Surgical Internship at the New York Presbyterian – Weill Cornell Medical College and graduated Medical School from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Dr. Voos performed a Traveling Fellowship with international experts in hip arthroscopy and shoulder surgery at the Schulthess Klinik and Lindenhofspital in Switzerland. Dr. Voos served as Assistant Team Physician for the NFL New York Giants and WNBA New York Liberty while at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Currently he serves as a Team Physician for the NFL Kansas City Chiefs, Consultant for the Kansas City Ballet, and Team Physician for local High Schools. Dr. Voos has published over 50 peer reviewed research papers and book chapters that include hip arthroscopy, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) biomechanics, Tommy John elbow reconstruction and shoulder instability surgery.

He also holds a Subspecialty Certificate in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine issued by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
